California offers lots of excitement and fun at great amusement and theme parks, animal parks, zoos, safaris, aquariums, water parks, Hollywood movie studios and fairs.

Amusement and theme parks are special places where children and adults can have fun together, enjoy state-of-the-art rides, other attractions, entertainment and catering.

  • Disneyland is the first and only theme park designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. Mickey Mouse and other characters parade on Main Street, U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom.
  • Six Flags Magic Mountain is famous for its large repertoire of big roller coasters and other thrilling rides, such as Revolution, Colossus, Ninja, Freefall, Roaring Rapids, Viper, Tatsu.
  • Legoland is the only theme park in the United States focusing on Lego bricks and featuring a water park and a Sea Life aquarium. 

Animal parks, zoos, safari parks and aquariums across the state present the wildest range of rare animals to be explored in the most beautiful, safe and pleasant environment.

  • San Diego Zoo is one of the largest and most progressive zoos in the world, a famous sanctuary to thousands of rare and endangered animals, including giant pandas. The San Diego Zoo has been a pioneer in building "cageless" exhibits featuring many different animals that can be found side-by-side in the wild, along with native plant life.
  • The Wild Animal Park is a safari park, a unique experience that brings people thrillingly close to wild and endangered animals, such as rhinoceros, giraffes, buffalos, gazelles, crowned cranes and more.
  • Sea World is an animal theme park, oceanarium, and marine mammal park featuring Shamu (stage name for adult orcas) dolphins, seals, sea lions, walruses, whales, penguins, sharks, turtles and pink flamingos with exciting shows, rides and lots of animal interaction.
  • Monterey Bay Aquarium is located on the site of a former sardine cannery on Cannery Row on the Pacific Ocean shoreline in Monterey, exhibiting stingrays, jellyfish, sea otters and numerous other native marine species, that can be viewed above and below the waterline.

Legendary Hollywood movies studios, like Universal, Warner Bros, Fox, Disney, Columbia, Paramount, MGM have been creating unique entertainment experiences to millions of people around the world for decades.

  • Universal Studios is one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood movie studios, offering narrated tours to the studio's active backlot, soundstages and sets. Staged events, stunt demonstrations and high-tech rides overshadow the motion-picture production. Costumed characters roaming the park grounds, portraying of Hollywood icons. Outside the park, Universal City offers a multi-screen theater and a collection of shops and restaurants

Water parks feature waterplay areas, such as water slides, splash pads, spray grounds, lazy rivers, artificial surfing or bodyboarding environment, wave pools and other recreational bathing and swimming opportunities. 

  • Raging Waters is California's largest waterpark, featuring signature thrill rides for a full day of fun for the entire family. Wild Rivers is Orange County's premier water park.
